臺灣形上學研討會

當代的形上學研究是門非常活躍的研究領域，研究主題除了傳統的「存在」、「等同」、「本質」、「共性」等相關議題之外，觸角還涉入「可能世界」、「因果」、「時間」、「續存」、「行動」、「任意一群事物能否構成另一個事物」、「抽象事物與具體事物如何區別」以及「實在論與反實在論的對立」等等諸多困難有趣又非常重要的主題。各種立場、各式討論都層出不窮，國際上也不斷地出版了許多相關書藉和論文，舉辦了大大小小的研討會。無論從什麼樣的角度觀察，形上學的重要性以及形上學議題的討論熱度，絕對有目共睹。

然而，儘管當代的形上學家的確提出了許多新穎、饒富深意的理論，傳統的形上學立場，並不會因此成為過時或陳舊的主張。相反的，許多哲學史上享有大名的哲學家的形上學理論，在當代仍然有不少的擁護者，仍然是某些議題當中，無法忽視的重要立場。這些經典的哲學家或哲學立場當中，最重要也最著名的，莫過於古希臘哲學家──亞里斯多德 (Aristotle)。

因此，臺灣大學哲學系的邏輯、心靈與方法論研究室為了呼應當代形上學討論的風潮，於2013年10月4日（星期五）舉辦「2013臺灣形上學研討會」，特別邀請世界著名的亞里斯多德學者、牛津大學哲學系教授David Charles擔任主題演講，並邀請國內外學有專精的學者，專門就「心物問題」與「行動」兩項主題，發表論文。相信本會議定能帶動臺灣研究形上學的一股新風潮。未來此會議擬兩年定期舉辦一次，搭配「臺灣邏輯研討會」（兩年一次）輪流舉辦，期能為臺灣哲學邏輯發展提供一良好的發表平臺。
